My Personal Suggestion - How To Choose Boxing Gloves

Jun 09, 2024|

Don't choose sandbag gloves - I can't see the value of this type of glove. This thin glove has no protection at all. The only selling point is that it can make you punch faster, but in reality, you can never compete with such a light glove.

Mexican style boxing gloves - smaller and more compact, capable of causing effective damage. These are good for competitions, but there are fewer fillers for training. Once again, I advocate for long-term attention to hand protection for the sake of your later life. Don't get hurt during training.

The value of a brand - Each brand has different demands, some tend to prioritize fist protection, while others prioritize wrist protection. A set of 14oz gloves (Grant, Ringside, Rival) produced by some well-known companies provides much better protection than some junk companies' 16oz gloves (Century, TKO).

Suitable and comfortable - make sure that the gloves will match your hands well after wearing the wristband. Check if it's comfortable, different brands have different feelings when worn, make sure your fist stays comfortable in the glove.

Final suggestion - go to a boxing gym and try wearing different types of gloves before making a decision. Check the appearance, filling, and comfort. Go home and buy online.
