how do you hang a heavy bag

    A heavy bag is a piece of exercise equipment helping trainers build strength and muscle, from arm and leg resistance training, and providing an intensive cardio workout. You are not required to be a professional boxer or a member of a gym to train at home with a heavy bag(such as pear shaped punching bag, inflatable free standing punching bag, free standing punching bag 100 inflatable). Heavy bag can be mounted on the ceiling, walls or shelves, and today we will briefly explain how to hang a heavy bag.

    1. Firstly determine where to install the heavy bags.

    Think about the space in your home, basement, studio, you can also choose between ceiling mounted or wall mounted. For the best workout, most people recommend that you can move 360 degrees in the heavy bag. This helps you work on footwork, movement, and more. If the sandbag is not in the centre of the room, it could break things or bounce back off the wall and cause you injury. Most people recommend installing a heavy bag in the ceiling of your basement or garage.

    2 Find a sturdy support beam.

    Support beams are narrow beams along the ceiling with gaps in between. In general, there is 16 inches between support beams, but they can be up to  24 inches wide. Most people want to hang their heavy bags from the ceiling for better mobility. When doing so, make sure to attach the heavy bags to a sturdy support beam. The beam should not only be able to withstand heavy loads, but it should also be able to create an impact when it shakes.

You can also find the support beam by measuring from the wall. Place a tape measure against the wall and measure 16 inches. Continue measuring in 16 inch increments until you are where you want to be.

    3. Hang heavy bag.

    Drill a hole in the support beam. Insert an eye bolt in this hole. First screw the eye bolt into the hole by hand, then tighten it with a spanner. Attach the chain to the corners of the heavy bag, these are given when you buy a heavy bag and should also include a s-hook which you should attach to the chain. Finally, attach the bag to the eye bolt.

    4 Assess the safety of the heavy bag. Press the heavy bag a few times to make sure it is securely fastened. If the attachment is weak or fragile, rehang the heavy bag.
